How close are we to the lake? Here is a shot from the lobby deck. Close enough? You could walk
out to the "Coop" if you wanted.

The Flea Market is gone - but there are more and more local shops to wonder through. Maybe you'll find something you just
can't live without.
If you were standing in the middle of the Battle Lake Flea Market, holding your recently purchased red handled pipe stretcher
or left-handed monkey wrench, or all weather combination hat and umbrella with beer can holders and the plastic tube that
you drink through -- you know "flea market treasures!!!" -- then this is what you would see. The Battle Lake Motel,
almost too close to the flea market for die hard flea market fans. Ahh, I love the smell of funnel cakes in the morning.
We would show you a picture of the flea market but then we would have to get a photo release.

There might actually be something to do besides fishing...... Walk up town and start your day at "One Fine Day" for
a great cup of coffee and some shopping. Continue uptown for more great shopping then Lunch at "Stella's" and an
ice cream cone at "Granny's". Then you'll need to work off that cone, walk down to the public beach and swim or play
in the sand. Glendalough State Park is only a couple miles away. Take a walk along the lake, walk to the Bald Eagles
nest and maybe see some babies! Smell the beautiful flowers and enjoy a nice walk. Drive 15 min. south and you
can be at gorgeous Inspiration Peak. Take a hike up the hill and look at the amazing view of Ottertail County.
Then stop by Inspiration Peak Supper Club for a great meal. Phelps Mill is another interesting place to stop
and learn some history while the kids jump off the bridge into the river. Many many many more things to do...... come
visit and see which is your favorite!!

The snowmobile trail is about 400 feet from the motel, and you can ride right from your room. Keep your sled
safe and sound, not far away in some parking lot. All we need is snow, but even in a bad year there is plenty of "wide
open" space on West Battle Lake. Bring your carbide.
