We still have picnic tables and chairs either out front or down in the woods. We have three grills, two
gas, one charcoal. This year we also have an outdoor firewood grill. So sharpen up your stick and we can make
'smores.

There are a number of "big weekends" in the Summer to be aware of the craft sale in Battle Lake first weekend in August,
the Phelps Mill Festival second weekend in July, the June walleye tourney, Chief Wenonga Days the third weekend in July, the
Fourth. That is why it is important to call as soon as you know your plans. In general, a mid-week stay is almost always
a better bet in the month of July for a "get away." Most of the resorts in this area charge around $1,000 per week,
and most require reservations months in advance. At $60 per night the Battle Lake Motel is a great bargain.

Glendalough is only two miles away. Some of the birders are able to add two or three birds to their "life list."
Some of the uncommon ones that have been spotted include: least bittern, black-crowned night heron, northern goshawk, yellow
rail, and of course whooping cranes.
On clear nights we set up a telescope and explore the sky from this dark sky site. Magnitude 6.5 visibility.
Craig is a JPL Solar System Ambassador, come and explore the universe. This spring two large, bright comets will be
visible, but you have to get out of the city to catch them.
